This image shows the continents and all of their climates.
The Cenozoic Era is probably the one you already know the most about, because you’re living it right now. It started 66 MYA and is still happening today. The climate at the beginning was much warmer today. The Cenozoic era has a much steadier climate than all the other eras. There was significant global warming about 55.8 MYA. As the era got more recent, the climate is different all around the world, depending on where you are in accordance to the equator. You’ve probably aLready seen how the continents look in the Cenozoic. There is 7 separate continents and 4 oceans. The Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, and Arctic oceans. North America got farther from Europe, which made the Atlantic ocean bigger. The largest mountain range on Earth was formed from a high speed collision of India and Asia.
The land animals and birds continued evolving in the Cenozoic Era. At the beginning of the era, there were few mammals. But, mammals are everywhere now. In the Neogene period of the Cenozoic Era, there was grass on land, which caused a huge change in mammal evolution. This era hasn’t ended yet, because there hasn’t been a big change in the world, such as a mass extinction. Hopefully, Earth as we know it continues so we can continue living in the Cenozoic Era.
